It cannot be converted to dihydrotestosterone by the enzyme 5‑alpha reductase, which means it has no effect on the prostate. Instead, Nandrolone metabolizes to dihydronandrolone. Side Effects

Nandrolone can inhibit the body’s own testosterone production and increase prolactin levels while inhibiting the secretion of gonadotropic hormones.
