Mechanism of action

Indications

Males: Treatment of hyperprolactinemia caused by pituitary adenomas, medication‑induced prolactin elevation, or idiopathic causes. Reducing prolactin can restore gonadal function, improve libido, and prevent gynecomastia in men using anabolic‑androgenic steroids (AAS).

Females: Management of hyperprolactinemic infertility, galactorrhea, and menstrual irregularities. Also used as adjunct therapy in prolactin‑secreting pituitary tumors (prolactinomas) to shrink tumor size and normalize prolactin.

Contraindications
